Carla Green is a lifelong resident of rural Payne County. She attended Ripley schools and earned her associate's degree in nursing from Oklahoma State University in 1991. Her nursing career began at Cushing Hospital, working in various units like obstetrics, emergency, ICU, and surgery. She then spent five years as a flight nurse and five in a cardiac catheterization lab. Carla also has hospice experience and worked for nine years with an interventional radiologist specializing in musculoskeletal procedures and pain management. She held some management roles over the years but prefers direct patient care.

In 2017, Carla obtained her master's in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlin University. She worked at a healthcare center in Cushing before transferring to the pain management team at OrthoOklahoma Spine & Specialty Clinic, a division of Stillwater Medical.

Outside of work, Carla enjoys sailing, cooking with her husband Shawn, writing, and attending sporting events. They have five children and three grandchildren spread across Texas and Oklahoma.
